About Us

To combat the recent rise of hate crimes in the AAPI community, Delta Chinatown Initiative was formed in 2020 to work with Chinatown communities to deter crime and support law enforcement in holding criminals accountable. We are supporting the most vulnerable populations in San Francisco — residents living in Chinatown's single room occupancies (SROs) with a specific emphasis on the children growing up in these cramped environments. We believe the safety and wellbeing of its residents, businesses, and visitors are critical to enabling the economic health of San Francisco's Chinatown.

Meet Our Team

Lily Ho

Lily Ho was born and raised in San Francisco. She has seen the City fluctuate and grow through its economic booms and recessions, and continues to see the beauty in the City's contribution to the world and its possibilities. She started her career in public policy at the State level, working on non-partisan policies at the New America Foundation, where she worked on legislative reform, asset building policies and universal healthcare. She evolved her experiences working at several tech startups, and spent the past few years in banking.

Lily and her friends were called to community work in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic devastated Chinatown, with no end in sight. Unlike other neighborhoods that had better infrastructures for support, the pandemic highlighted the fragilities of the neighborhood. Children and families suffered living in SROs, and mom and pop shops were shuttered. Delta Chinatown Initiative was born to help improve the lives of SRO families, install security cameras, and work on bringing better internet infrastructure to Chinatown.

Lily currently serves as a Board Member at Huckleberry Youth Programs, Chinese Historical Society of America (CHSA) Museum, Stop Crime SF, and the United Democratic Club.

Jennifer Quan

Jennifer has lived in San Francisco for over 20 years, married a native San Franciscan and is raising her three children in the city.

She has been deeply affected by the stories of families and children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially those living in Chinatown SROs.  She hopes to help revive Chinatown by improving the safety of residents, merchants and visitors through installing security cameras and doing more outreach to children in Chinatown.

When she’s not in Chinatown, she works in healthcare and volunteers at her children’s schools.  After the pandemic, she hopes to resume traveling throughout the world with her children.
