Welcome to The Mahjong Movement
The Mahjong Movement was born during Asian hate, in January 2023, with the hope of bringing empathy and compassion to the elders in our community. We’re thrilled that our vision has come to fruition, trending with many mahjong organizations and games sprouting up across the country.
The goals of the Mahjong Movement are to:
Create a space to interact with Asian seniors
Bring people together to share culture
Games and sports are the ultimate human unifier - bringing people of all walks of life together to the same table, literally. No game is more representative of Chinese American culture than Mahjong. Rather than an ancient game in China, Mahjong’s popularity is one of Chinese American roots, forged during the 1950s and 1960s with the rise of suburbanization.
In celebration of Chinese American culture and to bring people of all backgrounds to common ground, we invite you to join us in events that will be inclusive of all.
Join The Mahjong Movement! No experience necessary - we will teach you!
Ongoing Mahjong Movement Sessions
